II. Membership

c. Club Passes for lunch—fill it out and return it to us for lamination
d. Meetings: Approximately every other Friday; be sure to sign in. Listen for announcements and check email for updates.
e. Member in good standing:
i. Attend 80% of meetings (if you miss, see Ms. Stafford for info)
ii. Maintain A’s and B’s in conduct grades in all classes
iii. Participate in club activities
III. Fundraising: Halloween-grams
a. Need students to help make them October 24-27th.
i. Sign up on the sign-up sheet to help.
IV. Fundraising: Cobra-Fest: Popcorn and Soft Drinks
a. Need students to work October 20th, 3-5:30pm.
V. First Book: Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Mayberry
a. In a post-apocalyptic world where fences and border patrols guard the few people left from the zombies that have overtaken civilization, fifteen-year-old Benny Imura is finally convinced that he must follow in his older brother's footsteps and become a bounty hunter.
b. 20 copies are available for checkout beginning today (note: the public library also has copies available)
c. Book discussion on Oct. 31, 2011—potluck meeting!
VI. Community Service: Operation Paperpack
a. Book drive for members of the military stationed abroad
b. If you would like to help get drop boxes ready and make banners, etc., sign up on the sheet called “Operation Paperback”
VII. Upcoming Event: Book Swap
a. October 5th and 6th
b. Bring in books to trade.
c. Help spread the word! Ask a teacher to post the flyer.
VIII. T-shirts
a. $12.00
b. Required for field trips. (Note: if you have one from a previous year, that is okay, too.)
c. Available for purchase now.
d. Wear on Fridays to show club spirit!
IX. First Field Trip: Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios
a. Friday, October 28, 2011 (Teacher Work Day) from 4am-midnight
b. Cost: $120 includes park admission, bus expense, and unlimited lunch, dinner, and beverages.
c. Money is due no later than October 14th. Payment is requested in cash because we have little time to wait for checks to clear. You will receive a receipt upon payment.
d. We can take a maximum of 43 students, but we need a minimum of 35.
e. Bring completed field trip form and payment as soon as possible!
